Continuos Ribbon Abodes

Evolution Design Uses a Piece of Fabric for the Inspiration of this Home

Evolution Design is the architectural firm behind this futuristic home located in Switzerland that draws upon a piece of fabric as the source of inspiration behind the segmented floor levels. The abode features three different stores that are joined together by a piece of concrete ribbon that wraps between each layer and the base of the house. The unconventional styling adds an element of artistry to home's facade while using design to segment the different layers.

The house is comprised mostly of glass with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow a large amount of natural light to flood the space. To provide separation to the space, a massive slab of continuos concrete is arranged like the folds in a piece of ribbon between each storey. The white concrete adds a contrast to the glass and wooden frame.
