Helsinki-based Eriksson Architects is working on the construction of what it calls an "Ecological Silicon Valley" in China's Miaofeng mountain range, close to Beijing. The Mentougou Eco Valley architecture includes geodesic domes, a hip eco design the architects along with Eero Paloheimo Eco City Ltd. hope will draw in the cutting-edge tech crowds.
The plans include housing for up to 50,000 people, plenty of office space and environmental research facilities, all of which will be carbon neutral if things go to plan.
"The architectural goals of the area is [sic] influenced by the breathtaking mountain views mixed together with abandoned stone mills, which now will be converted to ecological urban areas for altogether 50 000 inhabitants," Eriksson writes on its site.Photo Credits: designboom, eriarc.fi
