Ikea Promotes Dog Adoption With Cut-Out Displays in Store Showrooms

Dog adoption ads need to get increasingly creative--the sad, Sarah McLachlan song-featuring sob stories aren't always going to work. This is why Home for Hope teamed up with Ikea Singapore to put life-sized cut-outs of dogs needing a home in their showrooms.

By using actual animals up for adoption and unique QR codes, Ikea customers could learn more about the available dogs through the animal adoption website. This initiative also involved ad agency DDB Singapore and animal shelters Save Our Street Dogs and Animal Lovers League. Until June 6th, the Singapore stores will feature 26 cardboard dog adoption cut-outs.

There is a lot more to a home than the furniture in it. You might go to Ikea looking for a new shelf and leave with a new family member.
