Public Breastfeeding Princesses

Buzzfeed Transforms Disney Cartoon Princesses into New Mothers

Buzzfeed recently transformed several of the popular Disney cartoon princesses into new mothers and showcases the women breastfeeding in public. The illustrations perhaps subtly offer a feminist critique on mothers should be allowed allowed to breastfeed newborn children in open settings free of judgement.

While many of the classic Disney films finish before any of the princesses start families, these photoshopped illustrations showcase what Belle, Mulan and Pocahontas might have looked like as mothers. The illustrations juxtapose real-life settings alongside cartoon princesses feeding their children in public.

The use of characters so iconic as the Disney princesses is an ideal way to offer a critique on a subject, such as public breastfeeding, to the masses in an understated way.
