In partnership with Google, Discovery is creating an all-new virtual reality travel series called Discovery TRVLR that will take viewers on a journey across all seven continents.
The 38-episode series is set to be shared on YouTube, as well as DiscoveryVR.com and the Discovery VR app, making it possible for viewers to explore many diverse cultures and rich traditions. With Discovery TRVLR, users have the chance to don a Google Daydream headset and immerse themselves in a virtual journey to Australia, South America or even somewhere like Antartica, which is an experience that most will not have in their lifetimes.
Since its inception, virtual reality technology has gone hand-in-hand with travel for its ability to instantly immerse people in places that are far-off, foreign or entirely fantastical.
