At this year's CES 2016, a French-based startup company revealed its health and nutrition app called DietSensor. The product is an app-connected scanner that is roughly one third the size on an average smartphone. The scanner can be used on any food product and will instantly send health, diet and nutritional information to the user's smartphone.
The goal for DietSensor is to make dieting, counting calories/carbs and adhering to dietary restrictions much easier. The company worked closely with doctors and nutritionists to ensure an authentic reading of each food product. Using a molecular sensor called 'SCiO,' the scanner will "vibrate and interact with light in different ways helping to determine what’s inside of the food."
This product is ideal for dining out, staying home or traveling with due to its Bluetooth connectivity feature. The instant feedback will ensure that food is free of allergens and meets personal diet requirements.
