Chinese Ride-Share Expansions

China's Didi Chuxing is Planning its First Out-of-Country Push

Uber and Lyft may be the leading ride-share services in North America, but Chinese based Didi Chuxing may be competition as it plans an expansion into Mexico. While the company has yet to comment on the launch of the app in Mexico it has already begun to recruit drivers in the country. Several ads have also been released touting the service in Toluca, all of which are being done to entice drivers to sign up for the service. Didi Chuxing is even offering a deal in which the company won't take a service charge off rides till June 17th 2018.

The arrival of the Chinese ride-share in Mexico could spell a challenge to Uber as it has already made some serious expansions into South America. In early 2018 Didi Chuxing bought a controlling stake in 99, a major ride-share app in Brazil.
