On July 4th, the Dominque Ansel Bakery in Soho will be dropping a New York City-inspired dessert collection that not only marks Independence Day in the United States but also Ansel’s 15 year in New York. The unconventional dessert collection reimagines NYC classics like takeaway coffee cups, bagels and pizzas into aesthetically pleasing and delicious desserts.
While the Bodega Coffee Tiramisu is a treat that's layered with espresso and amaretto-soaked almond biscuit, mascarpone ganache and dark chocolate mousse, the "Everything Bagel & Schmear" Pavlova is not at all savory—it's made from honey graham cracker meringue, cheese mousse, sour cherry jam and real poppy and sesame seed toppings.
Some of the other desserts in the collection pay tribute to hot dogs, New York’s nickname and Central Park.
