It's quite often that you see a designated parking spot for people with handicaps and babies, but China’s World Metropolis Center introduced 10 very pink parking spots specifically for women.
Understandably, the pink-lined parking spots are quite controversial, especially since they are about 12" wider than the average parking spot, causing people to conclude that this plays up the stereotype of women being bad at driving and parking. However, China’s World Metropolis Center claims that these ultra roomy parking spaces are not meant to perpetuate any kind of gender bias and the gesture was simply meant to be a luxury to female shoppers, the mall's primary demographic. Although there are some women who are enraged, there are plenty of shoppers who are quite content to have a little extra room at the mall.
