Artful Delicatessen Installations

Delicatessen on 6th Sells Felted Objects by Artist Lucy Sparrow

Delicatessen on 6th is a unique new public art installation in New York City from contemporary British artist Lucy Sparrow that's full of felt items that can be purchased. Although the art installation is stocked with everything from onions to tomatoes to canned beans, none of these products is actually edible but they give people the chance to take home soft sculptures handcrafted by the artist. Throughout the shop, signs help to reveal the many different kinds of felted goods that are for sale, and their prices.

This unconventional retail experience at the Rockefeller Center for a limited time is part of the Art in Focus public art program and represents the sixth of Sparrow’s tactile shops—Sparrow's last installation in New York in 2017 was so popular that the felted items all sold out.
