Video Chat ATMs

Singapore's DBS Bank is Testing ATMs with a Live Video Call Option

DBS Bank in Singapore has just opened its first video chat-enabled ATM at its ITE College Central branch.

While the ATM is a hugely convenient piece of technology for banking services in its own right, there are plenty of services that the machines can't offer. For instance, ATMs are unable to issue new debit cards, and receiving a new card can be an urgent matter in some circumstances.

DBS Bank's Video Teller Machines, or VTMs, will offer live, 24-hour video chatting with a real DBS teller, allowing customers to take care of virtually any banking that they need at their convenience. Though there is currently only one VTM in service, DBS Bank plans to progressively release the service to more of its branches.
