It’s not everyday you see an iconic film director set down the camera and try out their hand in music, but the release of the David Lynch Album 'Crazy Clown Town' is definitely an exception. Although the 65-year-old has collaborated before on music, such as with Twin Peaks and Sparklehorse, this is the director’s first solo album written, produced and performed by Lynch. Crazy Clown Town is a taste of modern blues with experimental sounds, seductive and mysterious lyrics.

Although he is known for a surrealist directing style so distinct to even grant him is own adjective "Lynchian style," one interesting approach to this album has been the first two released music videos. Lynch has taken the step back from the camera and put the official videos for ‘I Know’ and ‘Good Day’ up to competition. There were over 450 entries and the winner of I Know, Tamar Drachli, was handpicked by Lynch himself to direct. Although you don’t see the visual masterpieces of Lynch, you nonetheless feel his cinematic style converted into an aural pleasure. Most importantly, opening up the videos for creative competition for the David Lynch Album Crazy Clown Town was a fresh new way to experience the iconic multi-faceted American icon.
