Drug-Detecting Manicures

Undercover Colors' Date Rape Drug Detector Comes in Nail Polish Form

In addition to dressing up your nails so that they look pretty, the nail polishes by Undercover Colors also serve as a date rape drug detector. Although there are more obvious ways to test if your drink has been roofied, this is one method that is super subtle.

To put the manicure to work, all you'd need to do is dip your finger in your drink and pretend to stir. If traces of a date rape drug are present, the polish will instantly change color. Since color-changing manicures are now fairly common, this is a pretty good way to stay safe without having to set off any serious alarm bells. Undercover Colors was developed by a team of students from North Carolina State University and the polishes are currently undergoing testing.
