In an attempt to humanize them, Cyril Crepin celebrates their individuality while honing in on their self-respect, playfulness and courage in the face of their physical ordeal.
Cyril Crepin writes, "They want to be recognized as human beings. Contrary to what people might say about this series, it’s not meant to be obscene or voyeuristic. Obscenity is to ignore their humanity and their extraordinary courage." He took these photos with the help of Professor Bernard Devauchelle.
