Porcelain-Packaged Champagnes

Cuvee Sensorium Launched a First-of-Its-Kind Champagne Package

Cuvee Sensorium recently launched the first Champagne to be bottled exclusively in porcelain in collaboration with German porcelain producer Reichenbach.

Just 500 limited-edition Cuvée Sensorium bottles have been produced and inscribed with 24-carat gold. As such, one of the special-edition porcelain Champagne bottles costs €8,000 and is sized to hold the equivalent of eight 75cl bottles. The Champagne bottle boasts a design by American artist James Rizzi and contains a blend of 70% grand cru Pinot Noir and 30% grand cru Chardonnay from the Montagne de Reims.

When it comes to bottling Champagne, producers typically favor green glass to protect the liquid from being tainted by ultraviolet light. Porcelain is emerging as an alternative to glass, especially among Champagne makers who want to ensure their products are completely protected from "the taste of light."
