Food blog Food52 recently shared a festive summer beverage recipe for a creamsicle drink that is conveniently made without the use of any dairy. This allows consumers with dietary restrictions and those without to enjoy a much healthier version of the popsicle in a refreshing, homemade and naturally sweetened drink.
The beverage is known as a Morir Sonando and it features a base of fresh blood orange juice mixed with an nut milk of choice, such as almond or cashew. The creamy orange juice is then mixed with dates for natural sweetness, orange zest, vanilla, cinnamon and salt to replicate the taste of the creamsicle popsicle. The beverage can be served over ice or even blended to further achieve the iced flavor of the frozen dessert. It can also be made alcohol with an added shot of alcohol.
