Álvaro Siza was commissioned to create a ceramic mural right at the center of a rustic restaurant Cozinha fas Flores. It is located in Porto, Portugal and the design is done by Space Copenhagen. It features sketches of figures that are plating instruments in black detail against lime green and burnt orange tones in the form of tiles. This is done with the help of the ceramic tile company Viuva Lamego.
Peter Bundgaard Rützou and Signe Bindslev Henriksen, the founders of Space Copenhagen explain to Dezeen that "Whilst Siza has created many pieces of non-architectural works worldwide, he had never created something of this kind for his hometown of Porto. Given Siza's prominence and contribution to Porto life, having him manifest this into a mural depicting his perception of the city was beyond our expectations."
