Cookin, the Toronto food delivery marketplace, brings homemade meals to your door. The city's residents can now order delicious meals prepared by home cooks and have them delivered to their doorstep. Cookin chose Toronto as its inaugural launch city because it is a world-class hub for tech talent in addition to having a fantastic food scene.
"Food has the unique ability to unite all of us together," says Michael Baruch, Co-Founder and President, Cookin. "There are now hundreds of cooks signed up to Cookin. Many of these amazing food creators used to be line cooks, sous chefs and private caterers who are looking to re-invent themselves, on their own terms, and launch their own businesses. Cookin is proud to facilitate this opportunity for them."
Through Cookin's technology, food creators can become entrepreneurs, with complete control over their own food business, including their schedule, menu, and pricing. An Ontario food handler's certification is required for cooks, as well as a kitchen inspection. The platform allows home cooks to retain 85 percent of their revenue. In Cookin's commercial kitchen, the Cookin Cloud, 70 percent of revenue will be retained by the cook.
Cookin is currently available in Toronto with further city expansion plans for the near future.
