Students from ETH Zurich have launched a project called 'Concrete Choreography' that offers a visual embellishment, as well as a functional space to act as an alternative stage for dancers. The nine, breathtakingly designed columns are realized through 3D-printing technology and the set will be debuted at the Origen Festival in the Swiss Alps.
Concrete Choreography relies on an efficient, cutting-edge construction method that does not depend on the use of molds. The project is proof of the precision behind the use of robots in architecture and design, as well as a testimony to how far along 3D-printing technology has come.
The Concrete Choreography pillars display "the idiosyncrasies of both the material and the process."
