Although Mars has already launched a range of vegan chocolate products, the new CO2COA is the first for the company to completely substitute animal dairy with fabricated proteins made via precision fermentation. In addition, the new chocolate uses high-quality cocoa -- an ingredient that takes center stage in the absence of dairy milk.
