Peppermint-Crusted Chocolate Churros

Disneyland's New Holiday Churros Includes a Chocolate Churro

While Disneyland has churned out churros in outrageous flavors such as Carrot Cake and S'more, now the theme park has outdone itself with a new its new Chocolate Churro. Released as part of the park's 2018 holiday churro menu, the new treat is a must for all chocoholics.

Sold at the Frontierland Churro Cart near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the new Chocolate Churro is a seasonal treat that has never been done before. As Nubia Renteria, pastry sous chef at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, explains, "The chocolate churro is all chocolate — the dough itself is chocolate — it's dusted with cocoa powder and sugar and then glazed with a chocolate sauce, pretzels, and peppermint candies." It is the first time the theme park has ever done a chocolate churro and it is a welcome take on the classic cinnamon-coated pastry. The addition of pretzels and peppermint candies also gives it a sweet and salty flavor profile that is perfect for the holidays.
