These adorable handcrafted Christmas tree ornaments hold a lot of value for children who are supported by Children of Hope Uganda. The ornaments are under $10 and were made by the caretakers in Uganda. When you have an ornament as precious as this on your tree, you will be constantly reminded of how you contributed to helping a Ugandan child get an education and live in a sustainable community.
Jeffrey Wortsman, the President and CEO at Danier Leather Inc., started sponsoring Children of Hope Uganda after coming to an incredible realization. When his son was in grade two his teacher had the kids sponsoring a child in Uganda who was affected by Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance. By sponsoring these children for $175 each, they were able to get an education.
Wortsman shared an encouraging thought in his interview: people who are blessed with financial comfort should consider how they could help someone who has much less. He is a committed sponsor of Children of Hope Uganda and over time he helped build a one-room schoolhouse, two dormitories and a well for the community in Barlonyo.
These beautiful Christmas tree ornaments really bring out why this season is so special. Here is an opportunity to have a serious impact on a community that really needs it.
