The Cable Light adds a quirky touch to an otherwise simple silhouette in the form of a braided cord. Wound tightly around the top of each pendant lamp, this cord happens to also be the one that feeds energy to the light bulb. The access is simply used as a decorative element to spice things up in an unexpected way.
Designed by Patrick Hartog, an industrial designer based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the Cable Light was inspired by mooring bollards widely seen on wharves. Made out of ceramic, the Cable Light can be slightly customized by each owner in the way that they decide to use the cord. The cords are also available in different colors and patterns. Available in two sizes, they can be hung alone or in groups.
