Cancer-Fighting Font Campaigns

The 'Buy Fonts Save Lives' Project Supports Cancer Research

'Buy Fonts Save Lives' is a pretty self-explanatory title for a campaign that supports cancer research. The concept was devised by Paul Harpin, the creative director behind media company Haymarket and the font consultancy Typespec. For the project, three fonts have been made available for sale and the proceeds from the sale of the typefaces will benefit Cancer Research UK and MacMillan Cancer Support.

'Mfred,' by Matt Willey is a bold, blocky sans-serif font that has appeared in publications like Wired, Port and Elephant magazine. 'Heseltine,' another font designed by Paul Hickson is a serif that was designed for the founder of Haymarket's 75 birthday, which has been updated again for his 80th. Harpin himself contributed the third font for the project, inspired by and named after his late 26-year-old niece Laura.
