Perrier-Jouet, a Champagne producer famous for its Cuvée Belle Epoque and flower-covered bottles, has launched Bi-Centenaire, a vintage Champagne, and the Bi-Centenaire Program to celebrate the company’s 200th anniversary. The Bi-Centenaire has been termed the world’s first "living legend" Champagne, and the program is quite unique.
With the Perrier-Jouet Bi-Centenaire program, a buyer selects a magnum of Perrier-Jouet Belle Epoque 1998 Champagne, which is then placed in the winery’s cellars for as long as 100 years. The buyer's descendants are invited to pick up the aged bottle. Each participant is limited to a maximum of 100 bottles, each costing close to 10,000 euros.
If one isn’t interested in the program and prefers to just purchase a few bottles of the Perrier-Jouet Bi-Centenaire, it is available in limited quantities at the Champagne House’s Boutique in Epernay.
