Wegmans Food Markets has announced it will be bringing brûlée squash to its stores this fall as an option for shoppers to pick up that doesn't skimp on flavor and variety. The squash is being grown at the brand's own farm situated in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State and is reported to have a honey nut flavor that gets its name from the French dessert. The squash is earmarked to be a go-to option for shoppers to pick up this fall that's both satisfying and comforting.
Ambassador at Wegmans Organic Farm and Orchard Alison Hayes spoke on the brûlée squash saying, "I was first introduced to the brûlée squash at the Canandaigua Farmers’ Market by Porter Hunt, owner of Hunt Heritage Farm, and who previously worked at the Wegmans Organic Farm. He knew all about my love for honeynut and winter squashes. With its smooth and creamy texture and incredible flavor that’s less sweet than honeynut, but not as mild as butternut, I fell in love with this delicious squash!"
