Train Delay-Inspired Beers

Blue Point Brewing Company's Beer Makes Long Commutes More Bearable

Blue Point Brewing Company is releasing a beer to make delayed commutes a little more bearable.

This summer, New York's Penn station has undergone emergency track repairs, making for long train delays and unhappy commuters. To make the best of a bad situation, one beer company released 'Delayed' -- a pilsner available specifically in Penn Station that's aimed at lifting the moods of grumpy travelers. The boozy beverage is described as "a blend of floral, spicy hops for a subtle apple and lemon-lime aroma, balanced by slight honey notes from a creamy malt body." The bitterness of the beer was intentional as its meant to reflect the bitter attitudes of the commuters experiencing longer than expected wait times.

The 16-ounce can is designed to look like the Long Island Rail schedule board and hopes to eliminate some of the stress of delays.
