The BlindSquare app is designed to help the blind find the most popular nearby places. The app was developed by a Finnish company called MIPSoft and makes use of FourSquare to help lead the blind to the most happening of destinations.
The BlindSquare app begins by pinpointing your location using GPS. Once it has found you, the app grabs information about the places around you from FourSquare. The app reads off the places around the user within a 200-meter radius (which can be changed.) Filters can also be applied to help users find specific things. A simple shake will tell the user in-depth details about a location, such as its address, nearest cross street and what kind of things are offered there. Shaking the phone again checks the user into the place.
The BlindSquare app is available now for $14.99
