For a limited time in March, Yahoo! opened its own take on a juice bar in Japan by serving blended juice beverages based off news articles selected by readers. At the juice bar, customers were able to show their choice of a Yahoo! News article to a barista to have a complimentary original drink created to reflect the article.
Yahoo's juice bar was stocked with 11 different juice bases, including fruity options like pineapple, strawberry and mango, as well as fun confectionery toppings. Each drink was crafted based on the article's content, the number of comments it received and the time of posting, making each drink a one-of-a-kind creation. The headline-inspired blended beverages were served to customers with red straws in a Y-shaped formation to represent the logo of Yahoo! News.
