The Bump, a pregnancy tracking app and resource for early parenting, has officially partnered with the National Medical Association to launch The Black Maternal Health Hub. First and foremost, the new platform aims to address Black maternal mortality -- i.e. the fact that Black women are three to four times more likely to die from pregnancy than white women.
The new online-only platform will support expecting Black mothers by providing them with valuable resources throughout their pregnancy as well as for their early days of parenting. In addition, The Black Maternal Health Hub will function as a community space where mothers can connect, stay informed, and be empowered.
The new platform features resources such as mother-focused checklists, general information regarding Black maternal mortality, spaces for personal stories and advice, community discussion boards, and more.
