UK-based distillery Three Wrens created a world-first bison grass-infused rum distilled with five botanicals, including raw cacao. Bison grass (also known as Vanilla Grass) is one of the world's most unique, flavorful and aromatic sweet grasses, and the distillery saw the opportunity to do something that had never been done before with this release. Tonka beans, vanilla pods and cinnamon are also infused into the rum, which is said to have a rounded flavor profile.
The small-batch spirit takes several weeks to produce and the process includes a two-week period of maceration. After being filtered, the finished product is packaged in a matte gold bottle.
When it comes to enjoying this expression, the distillery recommends showing it off in cocktails like the Frisky Daiquiri, an apéritif made with shaken rum, fresh lime, cloudy apple juice and sugar.
