Mattel is Joining HMD To Create a Real Barbie Flip Phone

Giant European smartphone manufacturer HMD, otherwise known as Human Mobile Devices is working together with Mattel to release an official Barbie Flip Phone. Plans for the phone will be launched later this year during the Summer and it'll be made in a bright pink tone with some sparkling accents. Notably, it will not be a smartphone, functioning solely as a traditional flip phone to keep it simple.

There have not been official photos that are released yet but they will be officially unveiled at MWC. Human Mobile Devices Chief Marketing Officer, Lars Silberbauer states, "Is it time to swap reel life for real life and take a breather from all the interruptions of notifications? We’re thrilled to partner with Mattel, a company that shares our commitment to meaningful innovation and societal change."
