Japanese architecture firm Ryo Matsui Architects recently constructed an outdoor-based residential home called Balcony House in Tokyo, Japan. The home is a testament to building homes that have limited private space and was constructed as a response to the dense urban space in the city.
The reinforced concrete-based house consists of four stories and acts as a medium in which residents can connect with nature in the comfort of their own home. The rooftop terrace on the fourth floor offers a 360 degree view of the surrounding neighborhood. Also on the fourth level is the master bedroom with an extensive veranda. The wooden based kitchen and living spaces can be found on the third floor. Warm and natural materials were the inspiration in constructing the home and can be seen in the interiors of the structure.
