For Every Onesie Bought 'Baby Teresa' Gives One to a Child in Need

Using a one-for-one model, Baby Teresa gives an extra baby jumper suit for every one bought. The idea is that two babies benefit for every one bought. The baby in need may be from anywhere such as orphanages in Asia, villages in Africa or a poor family in more industrialized countries. Baby Teresa started in 2009 by entrepreneurs Sammie Appleyard and Kirsty Dunphewith, working with organizations assisting mothers with newborns in Tanzania. Since then it has spread to Egypt, Uganda, Kenya, the Philippines, Jordan and more.

The company takes its inspiration from the Mother Teresa quote, "If you can’t feed 1,000 people, then feed one," but has no religious affiliations. The two women are entrepreneurs with a philanthropic streak and decided they wanted to "make [their] impact one baby at a time." Since then mothers everywhere have felt compelled to help other mothers in need. One passionate customer says that it wasn’t until she became a mother herself that she realized how difficult it must be for other children to not be as well provided for.

The suits may be purchased off the Baby Teresa website. And if benevolent baby lovers are looking to do more, you can buy the suit and donate it as well as the other.
