At the Chipotle Mexican Grill test kitchen—Chipotle Next Kitchen in New York’s Greenwich Village—several new menu items are being developed, including an Avocado Tostada that offers a Mexican-inspired take on the classic avocado toast.
As the tostada is like the Mexican version of an open-faced sandwich, the dish features a fried corn tortilla base that is topped with a combination of house-made guacamole and a choice of salsa, lettuce and cheese. The light snack is one example of how Chipotle is offering more healthy food options to consumers.
Some of the other new menu items that are in the works at the Chipotle Next Kitchen include a Mexican chocolate milkshake, nachos, quesadillas and a spring salad with a citrus avocado vinaigrette.
