The 'Aviary Glass Grove' is an interactive art installation from Höweler + Yoon Architecture that makes tweeting sounds whenever it is touched.
The design consists of a series of illuminated pillars and standing amidst them would be like being surrounded by hi-tech trees. The installation blends design and technology, sending out the sounds of just one bird as the result of a single touch, or a range of bird sounds if multiple people engage with the installation.
There are two clusters of the artful installation is situated in the Dubai Mall, which is part of the migration route for many bird species. As such, the installation is composed of natural and migratory species including the African Desert Warbler, the Peregrine Falcon and the Greater Hoopoe Lark.
