More and more companies are now experimenting with self-driving vehicles and autonomous deliveries, making it exceptionally easy for consumers to receive everything from parcels to restaurant meals. Now, Kroger is partnering with self-driving car start-up Nuro to reimagine the future of grocery shopping with a focus on convenience and value.
As Nuro is the creator of the world's first fully unmanned road vehicle, it will be using its reliable fleet of autonomous vehicles to make same-day grocery deliveries for orders placed through Kroger's ClickList system and Nuro's app.
While the pilot market for this project between America's largest supermarket retailer and Nuro has yet to be announced, the autonomous delivery program is expected to be kicking off as of the fall of this year.
