To showcase some of the best features of its innovative new Flexweave material, Reebok collaborated with a series of designers and studios, including Joe Doucet for a pair of high-tech athletic gloves.
Using Reebok's new footwear textile Flexweave, which boasts an open-weave with a figure-eight construction, Doucet created what he describes as a pair of "GPS-enabled wayfinding" tool that includes a Bluetooth receiver and an LED strip. As these technologies are connected to an app, runners are able to receive easily visible and haptic feedback on which route they should take in order to reach their desired destination.
As part of its 'Woven into the Future' Flexweave initiative, Reebok also collaborated with other leading designers on the design of a chair and a high-altitude training mask.
