The Aspen Art Museum features latticed wooden timber siding, paired with a more white-washed material. The result is a clean finish with an opening at the top to allow customers to not feel cut off from the outside world.
The design is done by Shigeru Ban, and is still being built at this time. Careful construction will allow natural light to flow through the latticed wooden sides of the building, creating an interesting play of shadows on the inside. Hopefully those who come to the building will either bring sunglasses on a bright day, or a coat when it's windy since the latticed area might not completely block the elements.
