The London headquarters for contemporary fashion brand COS has an art deco office flair. Local architecture studio Orms aimed to revamp the nine-storey triangular building through highlighting its exterior and creating a bright, flexible and open interior.
The work space is exceptional. There is an abundant use of glass, constructing a "full-height glazed atrium, with a double-height reception area at its base" and a noticeable spiral staircase. The exterior of the COS headquarters accentuates the presence of the art deco office as a landmark at the junction of New Oxford Street and High Holborn. With an interest in preserving the status of the art deco office building, Orms decorated the concrete facade with iridescent hexagonal green glazed tiles. Thus, the COS headquarters not only becomes a place of work, but adds aesthetic value to Central London.
