Speedy Capsule Bicycles

The ARION1 Bike is Odd-Looking But It’s the World’s Fastest Bicycle

The ARION1 bike may not look like a typical two-wheeled bike, but its capsule-like shape is deceiving. It is in fact a bike; the only difference is that it is the world’s fastest bike.

The bike was developed by the University of Liverpool’s velocipede team and they designed it to reach supposed speeds of 90 mph. The high speed makes this invention not only the world’s fastest bike, but also the world’s fastest human-powered vehicle.

The rider is supposed to pedal laying on their back. In order to see the road, they are equipped with a camera and computer. The outer shell is aerodynamic and serves as a safer way for cyclists to share road space with cars. The team hopes to have the bicycle ready by May 2015.
