Dominique Ansel, creator of the Cronut as well as more recent baked goods including interlocking churro desserts, has come up with an exclusive apple pie dessert that will only be available this weekend -- Saturday, January 14th to Monday, January 16th.
The famous French pastry chef collaborated with Jeremiah Lawrence and Fabian von Hauske Valtierra (the chefs at Contra and Wildair) to concoct the Apple Pie Corn Dog. The treat consists of roasted parsnip ice cream and a caramelized Gala apple and almond biscuit filling covered in cornmeal batter. Made to order, the customizable apple pie dessert can be topped with apple cider caramel drizzle and a "crispy potato chip feuilletine" too, according to Ansel's Instagram post.
