Urbanism is the lifeblood of a city; it connects the layers of circulation and the ebb and flow of people with every beat of the city streets. This proposal for an urban center for Shanghai Expo 2010 eliminates the boundaries between interior and exterior. It also allows the expansion of the site--or contraction--as the need arises. It's the new DNA for urban design.
Implications - This new concept is called "Braided Urbanism" and will be taken on by the group Renata Paim Tourinho Dantas from Brazil along with three other groups from the areas Cyprus, Spain and Colombia. The featured images show off a wild web of architecture that would certainly be a sight to see.
