Honest Children's Book Parodies

Dan Wilbur's alternative titles have catapulted his hilarious blog, 'Better Book Titles' to the top of thousands of people's Tumblr feed. This week, he tackled classic children's stories, offering some brutally honest titles for some of the most beloved stories of all time, from Frosty the Snowman to Curious George.

Possibly the funniest cover put forth by Wilbur is one parodying Charlie Brown. The title he offers in place of A Charlie Brown Christmas is 'Acting Sad Will Make You Friends Pay Attention to You.' This hilariously apt take on the Charlie Brown series is a little disheartening, but after thinking about Charlie's countless conversations with Linus on the bridge, and numerous trips to Lucy's psychiatrist booth, it's clear that Wilbur might be onto something.

Another hilarious cover parodies Roald Dahl's classic James and the Giant Peach. While Dahl has always been known for creating unsettling, albeit awesome, stories for children, Wilbur's cover really allows Dahl's strange perspective to hit home. 'It's OK if giant fruit kills your aunts, as long as they were b*****.' While this might not be the moral that parents wish to convey to their children, it really is the essence of Dahl's classic tale.

Wilbur is one of the funniest bloggers on the Internet, tackling not only Tumblr but YouTube and Twitter as well. Hopefully Better Book Titles will be around for a while longer, offering up some more hilariously honest alternative titles for our favorite stories.
