'Bubbles' is an air quality architecture concept from Orproject Architects that addresses the poor air quality in many of the world’s major cities.
A large part of the design is centered around a botanical park, which makes sense because trees naturally improve air quality. But Orproject takes it a step further with a dynamic canopy roof that is designed to help regulate air purification, control temperature and humidity levels. The canopy is quite intricate, since it is made to look like the wings of a butterfly or vein on a leaf, but it is ultimately made to be lightweight and affordable.
One of the renderings of the park includes what looks like a palm tree in the mix with deciduous trees. The tropical trees may seem out of place, but the controlled internal climate of the structure would enable plants from all over the world to grow inside. Photo Credits: designboom, orproject
