Givaudan's "Active Perfumes" Protect the Skin's Microflora

Fragrance products are typically only thought of as luxury products that offer pleasing scents and little more—but Givaudan sets itself apart by making an "active perfume" that is designed to protect a consumer's unique microflora.

At the Givaudan Active Beauty VIP Party, ten customers were randomly selected to receive a customized fragrance that also boasts skin-protecting benefits. As well as taking the preferred scents of each individual, the perfumers included the award-winning microbiome protecting ingredient Revivyl in the formulas. Each [Yu] "active perfume" was shared in sleek black personalized packaging that depicted a consumer's unique microbiome map and DNA information.

As Givaudan Marketing and Innovation Director Fabrice Lefèvre says: "Beyond the concept of ‘exclusive skin microbiome-protecting fragrances,’ we are creating new sources of inspiration for our industry. What if you could express how special you are by your fragrance and protect your intrinsic uniqueness?"
