Santa Maria Novella Launches the New Acqua Scent

Santa Maria Novella is a historic perfumery and apothecary that dates back to over 800 years ago and the latest to join its roster is the Acqua scent. Founded in Florence, Italy by Dominican friars, the brand continues to honor its heritage in various ways including the gardens.

Since 1221, there have been herbs and flowers grown and used to create rose water, elixirs, and other fragrances. Today, the garden still exists and without surprise, the florals and herbs are a strong influence when forming its fragrance range. Recently, the Acqua scent joined the I Giardini Medicei series which first started in 2022. Instead of inspiration from the florals, the perfume honors what keeps them thriving: water.
