The A4 Paper Carpet by We Make Carpets Looks Like an Icy Lake

We Make Carpets, a Dutch art collective, has made some very impressive rugs in the past, but the A4 Paper Carpet is perhaps its crowning glory. Yes, there was the oversized brick carpet and another made out of colorful pegs, , but the A4 Paper Carpet is much more delicate than the first and takes up an entire room unlike the latter.

Specifically created by artist Bob Waardenburg and designers Marcia Nolte and Stijn van der Vleuten, the A4 Paper Carpet is made up of 20,000 letter-sized sheets, effectively covering 5,300 square feet of floor in an old industrial hall. Waardenburg reveals, "When we looked at it, it looked so much like an icy lake that we had to remind ourselves that we had folded all of those papers over the course of a week ourselves."
