IKEA Tyg—meaning "Fabric" in Swedish—is a new collection that shares pre-cut, three-meter textiles that offer a more user-friendly alternative to sewing, and personalizing home spaces with paint or power tools. These vibrant fabrics were created with more than a dozen designers and in all, there are 20 unique patterns to discover in the IKEA Tyg collection made to inspire creativity and connection.
These pieces of fabric have the potential to be used for curtains, throws, tote bags and wall art, so long as the size of the fabric is adjusted accordingly. “Be unexpected,” IKEA says, “Never lose track of the remote control again. Attach a pocket to the side of your armchair or sofa and it will always be close at hand.”
With these textiles, IKEA aims to inspire mindful, sustainable living and encourage repair and reuse.
