More than just a place to buy used items, eBay Canada is looking to engage the Canadian market by offering to beat competitor prices with local shopping discounts that offer 110% of the price difference. The offer runs through the month of July and comes as part of the online retailer's effort to expand into the Canadian market. This is just one of many initiatives launched within the past few years. To date, more than 3.5 million Canadian items have been added to the site with the result being a 10% increase in Canadian sellers over the past year.
To add further incentive for Canadian shoppers, eBay is also offering free shipping within Canada. With 88% of purchases on the site now falling into the 'Buy It Now' category, eBay has grown beyond it's bidding roots.
